Pest prevention in commercial spaces is far more cost-effective than managing an acute infestation after operational disruption or regulatory audit failure.

1. Building Envelope & Entry Points

• Inspect weather stripping and door sweeps on external emergency exits (ensure gaps under doors are less than 6mm).
• Check wire mesh screens on kitchen exhaust louvers and ventilation shafts.
• Ensure electrical conduit entries into server rooms are sealed with copper mesh and firestop sealant.

2. Pantry & Food Service Areas

• Enforce overnight clearing of open food waste from workstation bins into central sealed dumpster chutes.
• Establish a weekly cleaning protocol beneath commercial coffee machines, water dispensers, and vending machines.
• Schedule routine bio-enzymatic drain maintenance to prevent fruit fly reproduction.

3. Waste Management & Loading Docks

• Position waste compactors and dumpsters at least 10 meters away from main building entrance portals where possible.
• Verify that perimeter rodent bait stations are locked, anchored, and logged on monthly service records.
